Ellis O'Connor 'Deep Time, Inner Space'
Deep Time, Inner Space is a new collection of paintings from Ellis O’Connor that are rooted in atmosphere, memory, and the emotional experience of place.
Evocative rather than literal, these works emerge from landscapes Ellis has encountered and moments she has felt - places that have left an imprint beyond the visible.
Through shifting layers of colour, light, texture and gesture, the paintings explore a space between the physical and the imagined, where landscape becomes a vessel for feeling, memory and contemplation. There is a sense of both vastness and intimacy within these works born from a period of exploration and travel to the other side of the world. An awareness of places carrying histories far beyond our own, alongside the deeply personal, inner spaces we inhabit.
These are striking paintings that attempt to hold onto that fleeting encounter with a place, not to describe it, but to evoke what it felt like to be there.
