Alice Heaton is a contemporary British glass artist based in
North Wales, creating vibrant sculptural works in hand-blown hot glass.
Known for her vibrant use of colour and expressive organic
forms, Alice creates unique sculptural glass artworks inspired by the changing
landscapes of the mountains, coastline, and natural world.
Graduating with First Class Honours in Design Crafts from De
Montfort University in 2016, Alice quickly established herself as an emerging
talent in contemporary glass. During her early career she received a
Goldsmiths' Craftsmanship & Design Award and a Commendation from the
Contemporary Glass Society, before returning to De Montfort University as
Artist-in-Residence from 2016–2017.
Working primarily with molten glass, Alice combines
traditional glassblowing techniques with a highly intuitive creative process.
Her work explores movement, light, reflection, and colour, capturing fleeting
moments in nature and transforming them into dynamic abstract forms. Each piece
is individually handcrafted, with vivid colours flowing through the glass to
create unique patterns and visual energy.
The resulting sculptures are both expressive and tactile,
capturing a sense of the power and beauty of the natural world while remaining
abstract in form.
