Susan was born and brought up in Stirling. She studied Landscape Architecture at Edinburgh College of Art and worked in that field for several years before staying at home in Glasgow to look after her three children.
It was during this period that she was able to develop her life long love of painting and drawing. Nowadays, she works mostly in oils, although recently she also likes to experiment with mixed media.
Susan is a painter whose work is inspired by the soft colours and light of the Scottish landscape. She is particularly drawn to boats and fishing villages on the East and West coasts. She has also started painting layered cityscapes, capturing the bustling streets of Edinburgh and Glasgow. She exhibits regularly throughout Scotland and is a member of the Glasgow Society of Women Artists.
