Since its inception in 1981 the Teign Valley Glassworks have been producing stylish yet functional and highly collectable glassware. The aim was to reproduce the specialist techniques of the Victorian glass makers by making marbles. It soon became obvious that the team had the skills to make so much more than marbles and as production grew the business was moved to bigger premises in Bovey Tracey where they now make a wide selection of beautiful glassware.
Award winning designer Richard Glass uses an eclectic mix of traditional and modern techniques to produce highly individual, intricate designs that cannot be made by mass produced manufacturing.
"We are constantly developing new ideas and techniques, using new materials. This, in combination with traditional glassmaking skills that have been handed down from one craftsman to another over generations, allows us to develop ideas at the forefront of glass design."
