Hilary Gauci's finely executed still life works, focusing mainly on
silver and pewter accompanied by fruits, cheese and nuts, are highly
collectable. As a result she is much in demand and her paintings are exhibited
in selected galleries across the country including London.
She says: ”I love painting still life using the vibrant
colours of fruit and their reflections within silver, copper and pewter.
I also paint game birds, eggs and feathers, and old books, parchment and
globes. My work is done in oil on a fine linen surface. Over time I
have distilled my work down to small, still life portraits influenced by the
old Dutch masters and some exceptional modern day still life painters.”
Based in Aberdeenshire, Hilary Gauci exhibits regularly in the
North East as well as throughout the UK. Her work features in numerous
collections.
