Sheila Fowler has
had a lifelong passion for drawing and painting. She enrolled at
Glasgow School of Art and studied there from 2003 – 2006, and began to market
her work professionally in 2007.Her career has
developed from there, and she is now a full time artist working from her studio
in Giffnock, East Renfrewshire.
The artist’s style
of painting is contemporary and she enjoys depicting landscape and studio still
life. Colour and texture is what she loves. Her landscape
paintings are full of colour and light.
Scenes are depicted with emphasis on realism and attention to
detail combined with more abstract brush strokes. Still life and
floral pieces are bold and carefully composed.
The artist’s work
was featured on the BBC One Show Summer Exhibition and she has paintings
hanging in the Scottish Parliament Building. Her paintings were also
shortlisted for the 2017 and 2018 Ken Bromley Cover Competition.
