Caroline Bailey left a teaching career in1980 to concentrate on full time painting in watercolour. She has exhibited widely and has had many major solo exhibitions. She was made a member of the Scottish Watercolour Society in 1998.
Caroline's work is inspired by a love of land and sea and the footprints of human activity found where they meet. Although descriptive of the places Caroline loves, her paintings are not documentary but rather concerned with shape, colour and the layering of textures.
She hopes to express something of the feel and atmosphere that she experiences there.
