Margaret
studied Fine Art and Sculpture at Goldsmith's College in London and taught for a number of years before developing her own
practice. She currently works from her studio on the banks of the river in
Exeter, Devon. Margaret uses a unique technique
involving straw silk fibres to create her beautiful glass bowls, plates, and glowpots, each of which is delicately finished
with gold or silver leaf. Her work explores the use of colour, texture, and
translucency and her themes include water and fish, which are depicted used
handmade papers in a range of colours and patterns. Margaret's designs feature on
recycled glass bowls and vessels created by her. Each piece is delicately
finished, capturing the translucency of water and the bright colours, movement,
and shimmers of shoals of fish.
